The Sobada Experience

A Traditional Mayan Abdominal Massage Journey

Phoenix Mayan Abdominal Massage Experiencce

This offering is an invitation to slow down, soften, and return home to your body.

Rooted in the wisdom of Mayan abdominal massage traditions and woven with nurturing full-body care, this immersive treatment supports the nervous system, digestive and reproductive health, emotional well-being, and a deeper connection to self.

Each session is intuitively guided and thoughtfully paced, allowing space for the body to unwind, release, and receive.

Your Sobada experience includes:

  • A full-body massage addressing the back, sacrum, arms, legs, neck, and jaw to ease tension and invite relaxation throughout the entire body.

  • Gentle breathwork practices to encourage presence, regulate the nervous system, and support the body’s natural healing response.

  • Traditional Mayan abdominal massage (Sobada) to support circulation, abdominal and pelvic alignment, digestive function, reproductive wellness, and connection to the womb space.

  • Application of a handcrafted healing womb balm infused with the sacred resin of Raxpom—copal pine resin gathered from the Guatemalan jungle and traditionally used in ceremony for cleansing, prayer, protection, and remembrance.

  • Afaja wrap, a woven cloth lovingly wrapped around the abdomen and uterus to provide warmth, containment, and support, helping the body integrate the work received throughout the session.

  • A take-home cup of warm cacao to complete your experience. Revered as a heart-opening plant medicine, pure ceremonial cacao offers a grounding ritual that may support relaxation, reduce anxiety, encourage emotional connection, and invite you to continue nourishing yourself long after you leave the treatment space.

This is more than a massage. It is a ceremony of care.

A space to be held through transition, restoration, grief, celebration, postpartum healing, reconnection, or simply the longing to feel deeply at home within yourself again.

Sessions are intentionally unhurried and last approximately 2–3 hours, allowing ample time for the body to soften, receive, and integrate.

May you leave feeling grounded in your body, connected to your heart, and supported by the wisdom that has always lived within you.

A portion of every Sobada session supports reciprocity efforts benefiting Indigenous Mayan communities and the future Casa Tortuga Birthing Center project in Guatemala. Learn more about the lineage of Sobada here.
